Thursday the Department of Environmental Protection announced it is postponing the February 24 hearing it had scheduled Tuesday on the Chrin Landfill’s permit application to expand its existing facility in Williams Township, Northampton County.  DEP is working to reschedule this meeting to a later date.

Chrin Landfill filed the original expansion application on July 14, 2015. The company is requesting an expansion of the landfill permit area by approximately 30-acres and the disposal area by approximately 33-acres. The application was accepted as complete by the department on November 9, 2015.

A copy of Chrin’s permit application can be viewed at DEP’s Northeast Regional Office (NERO) located at 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, 18701 or the DEP’s Bethlehem District Office located at 4530 Bath Pike, Bethlehem 18017.

Those wishing to make an appointment to view the documents can do so between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm by calling the Northeast Regional Office at 570-826-2511 or the Bethlehem District Office at 610-861-2070.

Additional copies of the application are also available for review at the Easton Public Library, 515 Church St. and the Easton Area Neighborhood Center, 902 Philadelphia Rd. The public does not need an appointment to view documents at either location.
