The PA Parks and Forests Foundation Monday announced it is displaying the winning photographs from its 2015 Through the Seasons photo contest in the East Wing Rotunda of the State Capital until February 26. The photos displayed were chosen from more than 350 photographs entered by both amateur and professional photographers. The display includes those awarded 1st and 2nd place by popular vote and a critics’ choice in 6 categories, including Capture the Season, Friends & Family Fun, Young Photographers, Black & White, Nature Up Close and Historical Gems. Also included in the photo display are 2 Best In Show photos, awarded by overall popular vote and critics’ choice. All photos are taken in a Pennsylvania state park or forest. “The photo contest visualizes all that Pennsylvanians hold dear about their state parks and forests,” said Marci Mowery, President of the PA Parks and Forests Foundation. “The stories told by the photographs and the photographic labels reflects the connection we have to these special places in the landscape.” The 2016 Through the Seasons photo contest details will be announced on our website, PaParksandForests.org, in the coming weeks. The categories will in include some popular categories from past contests, as well as new ones, such as Fur, Feather, Fins & Scales and My Parks & Forests.
