More Utilities Answer Call to Help Pennsylvanians Stay Warm

Gov. Rendell this week announced that a dozen utilities took additional steps to help vulnerable customers stay safe and warm this winter, including a commitment of $12 million in new funds to help pay bills for low-income customers.

“I commend Pennsylvania’s utilities for answering the call to help our seniors and low-income families this winter,” Governor Rendell said. “Our Stay Warm PA initiative is about protecting our residents and making sure they stay safe and warm this winter.”

The Governor made the announcement with representatives from PECO, PPL, UGI, Allegheny Power, Rural Electric Association and PG Energy.

Other utility companies agreeing to participate in the initiative include Duquesne Light, First Energy, Columbia Gas, Dominion Peoples, Equitable Gas and National Fuel Gas.
