Joint Conservation Committee Environmental Issues Forum On Heritage Areas March 14

The Joint House-Senate Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee will hold its next Environmental Issues Forum on March 14 on DCNR’s Heritage Areas Program.

Jane Sheffield, President of HeritagePA, the Association of PA’s Heritage Areas, will do a presentation on the program, along with the opportunities and challenges the group has identified for the future.

A recent study by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania found the 12 Heritage Areas contribute nearly $2 billion annually to the state’s economy.

The Forum will be held in Room 8E-A East Wing Capitol Building starting at noon.

Sen. Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango) serves as Chair of the Joint Committee.  To sign up for a monthly update from the Joint Committee, send an email to: mnerozzi@jcc.legis.state.pa.us.
