Berks Conservation District Manure Management Workshops March 19, April 6, 8
|
The Berks County Conservation District will hold Manure Management Workshops on March 19 and April 6 and 8. Do you need a manure management plan or is your current plan out of date? All farms that generate or spread manure are required to have a written plan and are encouraged to attend one of these workshops. We will show you what the advantages are of having a plan, how to complete each step of the workbook, and how to implement the plan. The March 19 workshop is intended for all farms generating or applying manure. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, 121 Center Ave. in Leesport. A complementary mean is included. The April 6 and 8 workshops are specifically for horse operations and will be held at the Berks County Agricultural Center, 1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Light refreshments and door prizes will be available. Attendance for both workshops is free but registration is required. To sign up for either workshop or for any questions contact Rita Seidel at 610-372-4657 Ext. 207 or send email to: Rita.Seidel@berkscd.com.
