Penn State Extension Community Forestry Short Course In-Person, Online March 29-31
|
Penn State Extension will hold a Community Forestry Short Course In-Person and Webinar March 29, 30 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. each day. Planning and managing the green infrastructure of street trees, parks, and open spaces will help any municipality safely take advantage of the many benefits these assets provide. With proper planning and management, these assets appreciate and pay us back with time. This Community Forestry Short Course is designed to help municipal shade tree commissions/committees, and staff, including managers, arborists, and foresters; community tree advocates; and volunteers gain knowledge and skills in the effective management of public trees in Pennsylvania. Participants will have the opportunity to attend the sessions in-person in State College, or attend the sessions online. They can select to attend all 3 days of training or just one or two days. A certificate will be awarded to people that participate in the sessions in-person or online. The in-person course will be held at Penn State University, Room 110 Ag Science & Industries Building, University Park. The registration deadline is March 21.
