January 11 Forum to Examine Energy Supplies and Technology in Pittsburgh

There’s still time to register for the “Federal Energy Policy and You” seminar scheduled for January 11 at Duquesne University. Key speakers include Dr. Gerst A. Gibbon, retired from the National Energy Technology Laboratory; Michael L. Eastman, from NETL’s Strategic Center for Coal and Ed Cummins from Westinghouse. Dr. Gibbon will present an overview of United States energy flow and will suggest possible short and long term solutions to the diminishing global supply of petroleum. Mr. Eastman will discuss new technologies and approaches that will ensure the safe, clean, and affordable use of United States fossil energy resources through the 21st century. Mr. Cummins will present an overview of new nuclear power initiatives being pursued by Westinghouse and how the federal energy policy will either aid or hinder those initiatives. The seminar is presented by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh; The American Chemical Society; Pittsburgh Section; American Institute of Chemical Engineers; and the Energy Technology Group, Pittsburgh Section, ACS.
