The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service invites the public to attend the Pennsylvania State Technical Committee meeting on April 14 at the USDA State Office in Harrisburg. Quarterly State Technical Committee Meetings are held to discuss the conservation of soil, water, air, plants, wetlands, wildlife and agriculture. April’s meeting will include updates on fiscal year 2016 Farm Bill conservation programs and guest speaker Ginny Ishler from the PSU Extension Dairy Team will present new findings on feed management. More than a dozen Pennsylvania federal, state and local agencies make up the committee, which provides recommendations to NRCS on the implementation of the natural resources conservation provisions of the Farm Bill. “State Technical Committee meetings provide an opportunity for people and conservation groups across the state to share experiences and collaborate on positive solutions to better serve Pennsylvania’s natural resource needs,” says Denise Coleman, NRCS State Conservationist. The public is invited to attend the meeting which will be held at 12:30 p.m. on April 14 at the USDA State Office Conference Room at 359 East Park Drive, Harrisburg. To attend via teleconference, call 1-888-844-9904 with access code 6941559.
