EQB To Consider Radioactive Materials, Radon Fee Increases April 19

The Environmental Quality Board will meet on April 19, and among other regulations, will consider proposed fee increases for radon certification and a 50 percent increase in fees for the licensing and inspection of radioactive materials.

The Board will also hear a report on the review of laboratory accreditation fees recommending they be increased by between 20-30 percent to make up for funding shortfalls.

These fees issues are just some of 6 or more fee increase packages DEP will be proposing this year to make up for funding shortfalls.

Also on the agenda is a final regulation making changes to the Land Recycling Program and a proposed regulation making stream designation changes for 4 streams in Berks, Chester, Monroe, Northampton and Susquehanna counties.

The meeting will be held in Room 105 Rachel Carson Building starting at 9:00 a.m.

Copies of the regulations and supporting documents have been posted on the Environmental Quality Board webpage.
