Westmoreland County Pipeline Explosion Still Being Investigated

The investigation of the May 6 Spectra Energy Corp natural gas pipeline explosion in Westmoreland County is still ongoing by the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

Preliminary reports said there may have been a possible flaw in the coating material applied to a pair of welded joints that resulted in corrosion.
