Registration Now Open For 2016 Youth Water Educators Summit Sept. 22 In Harrisburg

Register now for Penn State Extension’s 2016 Youth Water Educators Summit! The Dive Deeper III: Youth Water Educators Summit will be held September 22 at The Central Hotel and Conference Center, 800 East Park Drive in Harrisburg.

This biennial professional development conference is an one-day event not to be missed. Anyone from across the Mid-Atlantic region who is interested in teaching youth (and adults) about water should attend.

The Summit has an amazing lineup of presentations and exhibits that feature innovative teaching strategies, new technology tools, new lesson plans and curriculum, and up to date information about water issues in our communities.

The keynote address: Thinking Differently About Water. Dr. Derek Cabrera of the Cabrera Research Institute and ThinkWater will share his expertise on using systems thinking to make a real impact when teaching about water.

Concurrent  Session topics include Watersheds, Environmental Literacy, Stormwater, Drinking Water, Groundwater, Green Schools, Invasive Species, Citizen Science and more!

The first 100 people to register will receive a FREE Rain to Drain, Slow the Flow educational kit, which will be demonstrated in the afternoon general session.

Thanks to support from the Department of Environmental Protection, the cost of these kits through their Environmental Education grant program.

You can also register to bring a sample of your household drinking water for a free test by the Penn State Extension Water Resources Team (for educational purposes only, not laboratory certified).

Save money, register early to receive the early bird discount.  The deadline for registration is September 16.
