The Delaware Highlands Conservancy is pleased to announce the launch of a new video for our region, “Clean Water Starts With You” which is designed to call attention to the Clear Choices Clean Water: My Delaware River campaign.

Actor, activist, and founder of Water Defense, Mark Ruffalo, a.k.a. The Hulk, is featured in the video.

As a local resident of the Upper Delaware River region and passionate activist for clean water, Ruffalo is an ambassador for the “Clear Choices Clean Water: My Delaware River” initiative, and the actions that everyone can take to help protect our clean drinking water.

Clear Choices Clean Water: My Delaware River is an easy-to-use interactive resource with suggestions everyone can implement to conserve water.

Website visitors who take a pledge will “put themselves on the map” to see the impact their actions are having on nearby rivers and streams, and see what actions their neighbors are taking to protect clean water.

Pledges can be made for activities participants are already doing, or for new efforts they intend to begin.

Until June 27, every person who takes a pledge will be entered to win an Old Town Heron 9’ kayak, generously donated by Alice’s Wonderland in Greeley, Pike County. Contest rules and regulations are available on the website.

“Clear Choices, Clean Water: My Delaware River” is a cooperative effort among the Delaware Highlands Conservancy; The Nature Conservancy-PA; Wildlands Conservancy; Pocono Heritage Land Trust; Brodhead Watershed Association; Catskill Mountainkeeper; and Water Defense.

It is supported by funding from the William Penn Foundation Delaware River Watershed Initiative.

The Delaware Highlands Conservancy works in partnership with landowners and communities to protect the healthy lands and forests, clean waters, eagles and eagle habitat, locally sustainable economies, and quality of life in the Upper Delaware River region.
