DEP’s Citizens Advisory Council Tuesday celebrated its 45th anniversary during its regular monthly meeting.  The CAC was created by Act 275 of 1970, and members began meeting the following year. 

The Council's mission includes performing non-partisan, independent oversight of the operations, management and policy of the DEP; evaluating environmental issues and laws; participating in the development of environmental regulations; providing advice concerning environmental matters to the department, the Governor, the General Assembly, and the Commonwealth's federal representatives.
