Household Chemical Collection Event Set For Aug. 13 In Boyce Park, Allegheny County

The PA Resources Council and its partners will hold a Household Chemical Collection Event on August 13 at the Boyce Park Ski Lodge parking lot in Allegheny County from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost to safely dispose of materials is $3/gallon, cash only.  A certified contractor processes the hazardous wastes collected for proper disposal.  Materials may be recycled, incinerated or safely buried in special landfills.

The 2016 household chemical collection campaign is a project of the PA Resources Council in conjunction with Allegheny County Health Department, Allegheny County Parks Department, Beaver County Commissioners, Cambria County Solid Waste Authority, Washington County, AAA East Central, Colcom Foundation, LANXESS, NOVA Chemicals, PA American Water, Department of Environmental Protection, PPG Paints, UPMC, Concurrent Technologies Corporation and NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.

Upcoming Collection Events

There will be two additional Household Chemical Collection events held this Fall--

-- September 17: Allegheny County, South Park Wave Pool parking lot; and

-- October 8: Beaver County, Bradys Run Park Recycling Center.
