Mining & Reclamation Board Committee To Review Coal Permit Fee Increases Sept. 22

The Regulatory, Legislative and Technical Committee to DEP’s Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board will consider a revised coal mining permit fee package at its meeting on September 22. (formal notice)

The fee increases are prompted by the significant cuts to General Fund monies previously used to support this program.

DEP has already proposed fee increases for its Laboratory Accreditation Program, Radiological Health and Radon Programs, Air Quality Program, Water Quality Program and Non-Coal Mining Program.

Fee increases are also being considered for the Oil and Gas Regulatory Program and Drinking Water Program.

The meeting will be held in the 14th Floor Conference Room of the Rachel Carson Building starting at 10:00. The meeting will also be available by conference call: 1-650-479-3208; Meeting Access Code: 648 297 350 ; Password: EnviroEd$600
