DEP Proposes Water Quality Approval For Emsworth Locks & Dam Hydro Facility

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the September 17 PA Bulletin proposing conditional State Water Quality Certification for a 24-megawatt hydroelectric facility at the Emsworth Locks and Dam in Allegheny County. (PA Bulletin page 5954)

DEP is accepting public comments on its proposed certification until October 17.

Comments will be accepted through DEP’s eComment webpage.  Written comments should be submitted by email to ecomments@pa.gov, or by mail to the Department of Environmental Protection, Southwest Regional Office, Waterways and Wetlands Program, 400 Waterfront Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
