Natural Lands Trust, PECO and KaBOOM! are seeking about 100 volunteers to help build a playground in Coatesville, Chester County on October 7 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the West End/Patton Park, 300 Block, Charles Street.

Volunteers should be age 16 or older and will assemble playground pieces, mix concrete, move mulch, etc. 14-16 year-olds welcome with guardian’s permission.

Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes. Gloves, goggles, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.  Youth activities will be provided.

Play is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. Together, we can ensure kids get the balance of play they need to thrive!

Please the Natural Lands Trust and PECO and show that play matters to you.

Five years ago, Natural Lands Trust launched an exciting new effort to improve access to and support for green spaces in the Southeast region’s urban areas. They began in Philadelphia where they preserved more than 450 acres of open space, so far.

More recently, we broadened the initiative to urbanized communities elsewhere in the region... communities like Pottstown, Coatesville, and Chester.

In Coatesville, the Trust has worked with the City and other partners to craft and help implement a five year action plan for the City’s parks. You can get involved by participating in this exciting project!
