Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) will host a webinar from noon to 1:15 p.m. December 7 on Moving The Clean Economy Forward In The Keystone State that will let participants know how you and your business or organization can help grow Pennsylvania’s clean jobs economy.

As the energy hub of the country for more than a century, Pennsylvania led the research, development and deployment of oil, coal, and natural gas that positioned fossil fuels as the foundation of the state’s economy.

However, the number of clean energy jobs now exceeds fossil fuel jobs in the Commonwealth.

This burgeoning sector - energy efficiency, renewables, energy storage, advanced fuels, alternative transportation, smart grid, demand side management and more – is presenting an enormous opportunity for the state’s economy and environment and employing thousands of Pennsylvanians.

The clean energy sector is also amassing a large collective voice that can speak to policy makers in an effort to move important clean energy policies forward.

The speakers include—

-- Phil Jordan, Vice President and Principal, BW Research Partnership;

-- Sharon Pillar, Consultant Advocate for E2 (moderator);

-- Mark Szybist, Senior Advocate, Natural Resources Defense Council;

-- Eric Miller, Policy Associate, Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance; and

-- Ron Celentano, President, PA Chapter, Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Association.

Among the issues to be discussed are—

-- The Clean Jobs PA report documenting Pennsylvania’s 66,000 clean energy jobs;

-- Energy Renewal’ Mapping Project that illustrates the location of PA clean energy businesses (find out if your company is on the map);

-- The state of federal climate policy: what we know now;

-- Bills that may have “legs” in the upcoming 2017 state legislative session: Property Assessed Clean Energy (P.A.C.E.) to provide a funding mechanism for energy efficiency-- House Bill 2380 (Galloway-D-Bucks) and renewables and solar legislation that would “close” the Pennsylvania Solar Renewable Energy Credits border-- Senate Bill 1343 (Scavello-R-Monroe) and House Bill 2040 (F.Keller-R-Snyder).
