On the Senate, House Agenda

The Senate and House hearings on Gov. Rendell’s 2006-07 budget proposal will take center stage over the next few weeks, but there are other things happening on the Hill. Here’s the rundown… Calendars The House will start March 6 with this environmental bill on its Calendar-- House Bill 2067 setting limits on state spending through a constitutional amendment. The Senate will start March 13 with these items on their Calendar-- House Bill 213 establishing penalties for eco-terrorism; and Senate Bill 1063 providing additional funding to expand the PA Small Business Development Centers. Committees The House Environmental Resource & Energy Committee will hold an informational meeting to understand the general, scientific, environmental, health and economic issues associated with reducing mercury emissions from power plants; and the House Appropriations Committee will have a budget hearing on the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
