The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service-PA Tuesday invited the public to attend the PA State Technical Committee meeting on January 19 at the USDA State Office in Harrisburg, PA. Quarterly State Technical Committee Meetings are held to discuss the conservation of soil, water, air, plants, wetlands, wildlife and agriculture in Pennsylvania. January’s meeting will include updates on fiscal year 2017 Farm Bill conservation programs and presentations by guest speaker Kristen Saacke Blunk from Headwaters LLC on the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation Grant Programs and Chesapeake Bay RCPP Project. More than a dozen Pennsylvania federal, state and local agencies make up the committee, which provides recommendations to NRCS on the implementation of the natural resources conservation provisions of the Farm Bill. “State Technical Committee meetings provide an opportunity for people and conservation groups across the state to share experiences and collaborate on positive solutions to better serve Pennsylvania’s natural resource needs,” said Denise Coleman, NRCS State Conservationist. The public is invited to attend the meeting which will be held at 1:00 p.m. on January 19 at the USDA State Office Conference Room at 359 East Park Drive, Harrisburg.
