The Fish & Boat Commission this week awarded more than $1 million in grants to nine municipalities for the development, improvement or rehabilitation of public recreational boat launches.

The awards are provided through the Boating Facilities Grant Program, a funding stream initiated by the PFBC in 2005 to help ensure Pennsylvania’s recreational boaters are provided with the highest quality boating facilities on water bodies across the state.

Applications for the next round of Boating Facility Grants are currently being accepted. Applicants can seek grants for site acquisition, project design and engineering, development, expansion and major rehabilitation of recreational boat access facilities. The deadline for applications is June 30.
