Bills Introduced

The following bills of interest were introduced this week--

Tracking DEP Applications: House Bill 587 (Zimmerman-R-Lancaster) requiring DEP to develop another system for tracking the status of permit applications (DEP already has eFACTS).  Another unfunded mandate on DEP (sponsor summary)

Approving E&S Permits Whether Or Not They Meet Standards: House Bill 588 (Zimmerman-R-Lancaster) requiring DEP to approve erosion and sedimentation control permits whether or not they meet environmental standards within a set time frame when up to 80 percent of permit applications (completed by engineers) come in the door at DEP with deficiencies (sponsor summary).

Leasing Lake Erie For Alternative Energy: House Bill 589 (Sonney-R-Erie) authorizing the lease of submerged lands in Lake Erie for offshore wind, solar or kinetic energy generation facilities (sponsor summary).

Drinking Water Well Construction Standards: House Bill 596 (Harper-R-Montgomery) establishing drinking water well construction standards (sponsor summary).

Combining PHMC & DCNR: House Bill 640 (Barrar-R-Delaware) transferring the duties of the PA Historical and Museum Commission to DCNR (sponsor summary).
