Susquehanna River Basin Commission Meets June 16 At Lake Raystown, Huntingdon County

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission will hold its quarterly business meeting June 16 starting at 9 a.m., at Lake Raystown Resort, Conference Center – River Birch Ballroom, 3101 Chipmunk Crossing, Entriken, Huntingdon County.

The meeting is open to the public.

The Commissioners will act on several agenda items, including 25 project applications (one involving an into-basin diversion and one involving an out of basin diversion); election of new officers; regulatory program fee schedule for fiscal year 2018; preliminary fiscal year 2019 budget; authorization to execute a treasury management services agreement; approval for SRBC to enter into contracts and grants; a rulemaking action to amend SRBC regulations to clarify application requirements and standards for review of projects, amend the rules dealing with the mitigation of consumptive uses, add a subpart to provide for registration of grandfathered projects, and revise requirements dealing with hearings and enforcement actions; requests for waivers from EOG Resources Inc. and Middletown Borough; adoption of the Water Resources Program; and amendment of the Comprehensive Plan for the Water Resources of the Susquehanna River Basin.

The meeting agenda will also include requests to extend emergency certificates, including Susquehanna Nuclear, LLC. SRBC staff will additionally report on delegated settlements.

Opportunities for public comment on project applications, fee schedule, request for waiver by EOG Resources Inc., and the Comprehensive Plan amendments were previously provided and will not be accepted at the meeting.

However, the Commissioners may accept general public comments at the conclusion of the meeting.

SRBC’s guidelines for quarterly business meetings include:

-- Attendees must sign-in and show photo identification;

-- Signage, posters, banners or other display media will be permitted only in designated areas;

-- The press will be permitted to set up and use video and recording devices in a designated area; and

 -- The public will be permitted to use small, hand-held devices that remain in their possession and are used in a non-disruptive manner.
