The Pittsburgh PowerSource and StateImpact Friday reported the Environmental Hearing Board this week agreed with a request by Sunoco to allow a resumption of construction on the Mariner East 2 Pipeline at 16 of the 55 sites the EHB shut down on July 25.
The EHB Friday extended the ban on further construction at the remaining sites until August 9 when a hearing could be held involving the 3 environmental groups seeking further extension of the construction ban.
A hearing on the merits of appeal of the permits issued by DEP for the pipeline are still some months off.
