On August 7, DEP’s Climate Change Advisory Committee will review a draft 2017 PA Greenhouse Gas Inventory showing carbon dioxide emissions have dropped by a total of 3.6 million tons between 2013 and 2014.

Emissions from electric generation, primarily as a result of using more natural gas than coal, dropped 6.35 million tons in that same year.  The transportation and agriculture sectors also saw decreases.

Increases in emissions from residential, commercial, industrial and waste management (primarily landfills) sectors offset some of the emission reductions.

Also on the agenda are an overview of the PA Electric Vehicle Coalition and discussion of next steps in developing the 2018 PA Climate Change Action Plan Update.
