Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count, Other DCNR Citizen Science Opportunities
|
|
Volunteers have always been important to conservation. If you participate as a citizen scientist in Audubon’s Christmas Bird Count from December 14 to January 5, you’ll be adding to data collected for more than a century! Researchers, conservation biologists, wildlife agencies, and other interested individuals use the data to study the long-term health and status of bird populations across North America. Sign up for a count near you. State parks and forests also have citizen science opportunities that you can participate in year round, including: -- Bird, bat, amphibian, and monarch butterfly monitoring and counting -- Tree and plant monitoring and measuring -- Water quality testing Click Here to see upcoming Citizen Science opportunities in a park or forest near you.
