The National Weather Service Sunday issued flood watches for 13 counties in Pennsylvania due to the movement of ice in the Susquehanna River. Stay tuned to local media for the latest. [Updated 8:20 a.m. January 14] In Northcentral and Northeast Pennsylvania-- Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Northern Wayne, Pike, Southern Wayne, Susquehanna, and Wyoming. Watch continues until 10:00 a.m. TODAY. In the Lower Susquehanna River Basin-- Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Perry, and York. Watch continues until 7:00 a.m. Monday, January 15. The NWS said in its statement: “Runoff into larger tributaries, and the major rivers of the region continues, despite the now frigid temperatures and wind chills. River ice that released during yesterday`s warmth and rain may now move into ice jam prone areas and re-freeze. “There are currently a few known jams causing problems around central New York and northeast Pennsylvania, and several of our stream gauges are showing indications of water level changes from ice jamming.” For more on NWS Watches and Warnings: Click Here for all the details in Central PA.
