Shell Proposes Nearly 60 Mile Ethane Pipeline In Allegheny, Beaver, Washington Counties

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice inviting comments on proposed Water Obstruction and Encroachment permits for a 59.6 mile ethane pipeline by the Shell Pipeline Company in Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties (January 20 PA Bulletin pages 550-551).

The project involves a total of 59.6 miles of 12 inch pipeline-- 11.6 miles in Allegheny County, 30 miles in Beaver County and 18 miles in Washington County.

The complete ethane pipeline will connect the Shell ethane plant in Beaver County with facilities in other parts of Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Comments on these applications are due by February 20.
