CBF-PA Helps Students Explore Local Waterways In 11 PA Counties In Chesapeake Bay Watershed
Photo

From April 3 to May 30, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation-PA will hold take students on a day-long watershed exploration trip as part of the Susquehanna Watershed Environmental Education Program in 11 counties in grades 5 through 12.

Working with 18 groups in the 11 counties, CBF educators will get students out on the water to teach them the importance of water quality, how stream systems work and conducting hands-on experiments that engage and excite a student's sense of exploration.

The counties include Adams, Berks, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Snyder, Union and York.

SWEEP operates a mobile/traveling canoe fleet for students, teachers, and guests. Media representatives are invited and welcome to join for full or partial day trips. Accommodations will be made accordingly to provide optimal photography opportunities and to allow time for interviews. Additionally, our staff will be happy to assist in shuttle and travel arrangements.

For more information, contact B.J.Small, CBF-PA Media and Communications coordinator at 717-200-4521 or send email to bsmall@cbf.org.
