Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate-- Senate Farm High Tunnels: House Bill 1486 (Zimmerman-R-Lancaster) exempting agricultural high-tunnel structures from the Stormwater Management Act (House Fiscal Note and summary) was passed by the Senate without changes and now goes to the Governor for his action. Critical Infrastructure Trespass: Senate Bill 652 (Regan-R- Cumberland) providing for increased penalties for trespass onto critical infrastructure including electric power, natural gas, petroleum, water, wastewater, telecommunications, port, railroad, trucking, steelmaking, dams or chemical facilities was amended on the Senate Floor and was referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee. Landowner Liability: House Bill 544 (Moul-R-Adams) further providing for liability protection for landowners opening their land for public recreation was amended and reported out of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action. |
