Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate-- House One-Stop Permitting Website: House Bill 1284 (Peifer-R-Pike) directs DCED to develop a one-stop-shop online permitting portal for business (sponsor summary) was removed from the Table and and is now on the House Calendar for action. Borough Electric Systems: House Bill 2030 (Bernstine-R-Beaver) limiting use of revenue from certain municipally-owned electric distribution systems (sponsor summary) was removed from the Table and referred to the House Appropriations Committee. Alternative Ratemaking: House Bill 1782 (Delozier-R-Cumberland) authorizing alternative ratemaking for electric and natural gas distribution companies to encourage energy efficiency improvements, distributed and renewable energy projects was amended to make it applicable to water and wastewater facility operators, reported out of the House Consumer Affairs Committee and Tabled. Perfluoroalkyl Contamination: House Resolution 682 (Stephens-R-Montgomery) urging former naval air bases in Willow Grove in Montgomery County for an exposure assessment study on human health implications of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl contamination (sponsor summary) was adopted by the House.
