Here are highlights of actions taken by agencies on environmental regulations, technical guidance and permits.

Regulations -----------------------

The Environmental Quality Board published notice in the June 23 PA Bulletin of final regulations on the Handling and Use of Explosives adopted at its February 2018 meeting.

The Environmental Quality Board Tuesday approved two final regulations relating to radiation protection.  One is a final-omitted rulemaking adopting U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission consistency changes and the other is a final regulation updating requirements for a number of sources of radiation including x-ray machines, industrial radiological sources and radon certification.  The July EQB meeting has been canceled.

Technical Guidance -------------------

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the June 23 PA Bulletin of final technical guidance on Drinking Water Plant Filter Plant Performance Evaluations.

The Public Utility Commission published notice in the June 23 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a proposed policy statement inviting fixed utilities to explore alternative ratemaking methodologies in distribution base rate proceedings which further promote federal and state policy objectives, provide incentives to improve system efficiency and ensure that fixed utilities receive adequate revenue to maintain safe and reliable service. 

Permits ------------

Note: The Department of Environmental Protection published 60 pages of public notices related to proposed and final permit and approval/ disapproval actions in the June 23 PA Bulletin - pages 3751 to 3811.

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the June 23 PA Bulletin of bond rate calculations for land reclamation bonds for coal mining operations (corrections).

DEP published notice in the June 23 PA Bulletin of a request for credit certification by the Lancaster Area Sewer Authority under the Nutrient Credit Trading Program for continuous no-till, cover crops and grass buffers.
