The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is highlighting Latino Conservation Week July 14-22 which provides opportunities for Latinos to come together and demonstrate their passion for the outdoors -- both its enjoyment and preservation. During this week, community, nonprofit, faith-based, and government organizations and agencies hold events throughout the U.S. These activities promote conservation efforts in their community, and provide an opportunity for Latinos to show their support for permanently protecting our land, water, and air. Celebrate by getting out to a Pennsylvania state park or forest with friends and family. Upcoming events include: -- July 16: Family Science Night: Pioneros de la Conservación at Keystone State Park, Westmoreland County (4:00 – 6:00 p.m.) -- July 17: An Evening of Nature Activities at Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center, Northampton County (5:00 – 7:00 p.m.) -- July 22: Aves en Pensilvania y América del Sur at Keystone State Park, Westmoreland County (9:00 a.m.) Visit DCNR’s Calendar of Events webpage for more information on all kinds of events in state parks and forests around the state.
