The Harrisburg [Area] Bicycle Club and American Cancer Society Tuesday announced they have partnered for the annual Three Creek Century ride on September 16 to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The ride will provide amazing scenic views throughout the Cumberland Valley across roads along the Conodoguinet, Yellow Breeches, and Big Spring creeks.

There are several on-road routes available including rides of 100, 75, 50, and 25-mile lengths. There is also a 50-mile South Mountain Challenge and an 18-mile loop on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. The event starts at the Penn Township Fire Department, 1750 Pine Road, Newville, Cumberland County..

“The Harrisburg Bicycle Club is proud to partner with the American Cancer Society,” says Marilyn Chastek of the Harrisburg Bicycle Club. “This provides us an opportunity to assist in enhancing the organizations efforts to find a cure for cancer.”

Registration for the event is $50, with $20 going directly to the American Cancer Society to help fund programs, services, and critical cancer research. Cyclists are also encouraged to fundraise leading up to the event, earning incentives along the way.

Participation allows the American Cancer Society to help people facing cancer today, and find cures to end the disease tomorrow.

“We are excited for this opportunity to work with the Harrisburg Bicycle Club,” says MaryAnn Kennedy, ACS senior community development manager. “Through our combined efforts, we have a great opportunity to reach more cyclists who want to make a difference and help in the efforts to make this a world of less cancer.”

Registration and sponsorship opportunities information is available at the Three Creek Century ride webpage.
