The Manada Conservancy will host a Creating A Backyard Pollinator Habitat Program on April 24 at the Grace UM Church, 433 East Main Street in Hummelstown, Dauphin County starting at 7:00 p.m.

Ryan Davis, Chesapeake Forests Program Manager from the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay will discuss native pollinators in detail, from their biology to specific ways you can improve your property to give these “good bugs” a home.

Pollinators are some of the most important animals on the planet. Many plants need them to reproduce. They are critical members of the food web. Human agriculture and economies lean on them heavily. Alarmingly, global pollinator populations are plummeting, due largely to our sterile modern landscape.

The good news is that anyone with a backyard can help provide habitat for these wonderful, essential insects!

This program is free and open to the public. Please register by contacting Manada Conservancy by sending email to: office@manada.org or call 717-566-4122.
