PEC: Volunteers Needed For Illegal Dumpsite Cleanup In Luzerne County April 27

The PA Environmental Council, in partnership with Northeast Eagle Distributors, Budweiser and the City of Pittston and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, will conduct an Illegal Dumpsite Cleanup in Luzerne County on April 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This event will focus on cleaning up illegally dumped trash, tires and debris at two sites, both are located along Towpath Court.

Please dress appropriately, long pants, sturdy shoes. Volunteers will meet at the site located behind 450 N Main Street (Patriot Car Wash).

On the morning of the cleanup, volunteers will gather for registration and instructions. After registration, volunteers will be provided with work gloves, trash bags and safety vest.

When supplies are distributed and instructions have been provided, volunteers will begin the cleanup. Free t-shirts, hats, lunch and snacks will be provided to all participants.

Families, individuals, scouting groups, 4-H groups, environmental clubs, businesses, college and university clubs and high school students are invited to be part of this effort.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or have a parent/guardian sign a registration/insurance form prior to the cleanup and bring it with them.
