Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful is calling for individuals and groups to register community improvement events with the Great American Cleanup of PA before the statewide initiative ends on May 31.

Registered events receive free cleanup supplies of bags, gloves and vests, while supplies last.

“There have been hundreds of events across the state so far this year. Now is the time before the vegetation completely takes over and makes it difficult to see and get to the trash,” said Michelle Dunn, the statewide coordinator of the annual program.  “People can simply organize their own local event or join an event in their area. It’s never too late to clean and beautify your community.”

Events can be litter cleanups, illegal dump cleanups, beautification projects, special collections, and educational events however,  you must be registered to receive free cleanup supplies.

Video Contest

In conjunction with the cleanup initiative, the group is also holding a video contest for those registered. Cash prizes, sponsored by the PA Waste Industries Association, are $200 for the winning entry and $100 each for two runners up. Submission deadline is June 7, 2019.
