Flock To Hawk Mountain Sanctuary This Summer To Enjoy Great Summer Events

During the summertime, the outdoors are warm, bright, and just waiting to be explored, and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Berks County is no exception. In addition to the lush, green trails that are always offered, this summer is bursting with events for everyone to enjoy.

Hawk Mountain’s 2019 summer events have grown exponentially from previous years in order to spread more environmental conservation awareness and education while providing a fun, memorable experience.

Spread throughout the summer are various events, workshops and classes for all ages. Hawk Mountain’s three Youth Workshops designed for primary school children ignite their appreciation for nature by making mountain music (June 12), discovering the animal kingdom with live animal interactions (July 24), and learning about migration and the technologies used to track raptors (August 20).

Hawk Mountain’s family-oriented series, Family Fun in Nature, allows the whole clan to learn about different aspects of nature together, including Pennsylvania’s flora and fauna (June 15), bats (July 20), and reptiles and amphibians (August 17).

The Sanctuary’s second-annual Birds & Brew event on August 17th is one for the adults. From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., enjoy unlimited beer tastings from local breweries, along with high-class food, a commemorative glass, and live music entertainment.

All proceeds directly support Hawk Mountain’s global conservation science research and educational programming.

Hawk Mountain also offers various wildlife workshops for all ages, monthly moon walks to enjoy the wonder of nature at night, and so many more events that can be found on the Hawk Mountain Events webpage with more information regarding details and registration.

The trails at Hawk Mountain are a great spot to get active and get some fresh air. Anyone can enjoy what nature has to offer because our trails range in skill level, so visitors can have a relaxing walk in the woods or challenge themselves on a trail with more difficult terrain.

Additionally, the Native Habitat Garden, South Lookout, and the award-winning Silhouette Trail are all wheelchair accessible, giving everybody a chance to have a great outdoor experience.

The wooded mountain top provides a cool shade and a higher altitude to beat the summer heat on hot days, and our trail fee for non-members supports a good cause: our global conservation efforts.

While there is no migration to behold during summer, the vibrant wildlife at Hawk Mountain have their own beauty. The trails are flourishing with summer plants in bloom.

The warm weather is inviting to resident raptors, songbirds, amphibians and small mammals to explore the property, providing a sight-to-see at any point during a visit.
