Growing Greener Coalition Call To Action: Protect Local Environmental, Recreation Project Funds, No Backsliding!
Photo

The Growing Greener Coalition has issued a call to action urging the public to contact their legislators to protect existing sources of community-based environmental restoration and recreation project funding--

Budget negotiations are happening right now in the state legislature. The Environmental

Stewardship Fund and the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund will lose tens of millions of dollars (to invest in local projects) if senators and representatives do not act to reverse the Governor’s proposed cuts.

It is extremely important that you act immediately.

Please call your legislators this week (the sooner, the better) and ask that they demonstrate their support of the Keystone Fund and the Environmental Stewardship Fund by contacting their leadership and demanding these dedicated conservation funding sources remain intact.

We can not justify any cuts to these funding sources since demand is continuously high and nearly half of all grant proposals go unfunded. As noted in the talking points, there are no loose funds to spare.

Thank you for standing up for conservation funding. We have been able to maintain these dedicated funding sources for decades because of conservation advocates like you who take action.

The Environmental Stewardship Fund and the Keystone Fund are under threat and need you to stand up and speak out.
