PA Resources Council: Only A Few More Hard-To-Recycle, Household Chemical Collection Events Left In Allegheny, Beaver Counties

The PA Resources Council urges residents in Allegheny and Beaver counties to take advantage of the last scheduled Hard-To-Recycle and Household Chemical Collection Events this year.

Hard-To-Recycle

Individuals in Allegheny County can drop off “e-waste” such as computer towers and peripheral equipment, cell phones, printer/toner cartridges, CFLs and expanded polystyrene packaging material at no cost.

For a fee, individuals can drop off televisions and computer monitors, alkaline batteries, fluorescent tubes, printers, small Freon appliances and tires.

The last events will be held--

-- August 3: West Mifflin Area High School, Allegheny County

-- October 5: Settlers Cabin Park, Allegheny County

Household Chemical

Residents in Allegheny and Beaver counties can drop off automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints and other household chemicals for a cost of $3/gallon (a few exceptions apply), cash only. 

The events will be held--

-- August 17: Boyce Park, Allegheny County

-- September 21: South Park, Allegheny County

-- October 12: Bradys Run Park, Beaver County
