The Department of Agriculture begins a series of webinars on how Pennsylvania farmers and ranchers can manage risk from weather extremes and other risks through crop insurance.

Yhe goal of the webinars is to help agricultural producers understand crop insurance products so they can make informed purchase decisions.

Participants will learn for each insurable crop:

-- What crop insurance products are available

-- What risks are covered

-- How different types of insurance work

-- What options within each policy are available

-- The application process

-- Where to go for additional information and help

The webinars will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.--

-- September 10: Pasture, Rangeland and Forage

-- September 12: Peaches and Pears

-- September 17: Grapes

-- September 19: Apples
