Commonwealth Financing Authority Approves $20 Million For Watershed, Environmental Projects Funded By Drilling Impact Fee

On September 17, the Commonwealth Financing Authority announced it had approved more than $20 million in funding for flood mitigation, greenways, trails and recreation, sewage facility and watershed restoration projects funded by the Act 13 drilling impact fee. The 151 projects were located in 43 counties and included-- -- Greenways, Trails and Recreation: 108 projects, $12,792,463; -- Flood Mitigation: 19 projects, $4,434,112; -- Watershed Restoration and Protection: 23 projects, $3,588,560; and -- Sewage Facilities: Two projects, $39,865.
