House Democratic Policy Committee Holds Oct. 21 Hearing On Issues Related To Waters Of Pennsylvania

The House Democratic Policy Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on October 21 to discuss issues facing rivers, dams, fishing and outdoor recreation industry and agriculture all related to the waters of Pennsylvania.

The hearing will be co-chaired by Rep. Mary Jo Daley (D-Montgomery) and Rep. Mike Sturla (R-Lancaster), Policy Committee Chair.

The Committee will hear comments in several panels--

Panel One

-- Aneca Atkinson, MSWREE, Deputy Secretary for Water Programs OR Joe Adams, PE, Deputy Secretary for Field Operations, Dept. of Environmental Protection

-- Matthew Keefer, assistant state forester, Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources

-- Ann Pesiri Swanson, executive director, Chesapeake Bay Commission

-- Andrew Dehoff, executive director, Susquehanna River Basin Commission

-- Andrew Gavin, deputy director, Susquehanna River Basin Commission

-- Michael Nerozzi, Director of Policy and Planning, Fish & Boat Commission

Panel Two

-- Jacquelyn Bonomo, president and CEO, PennFuture.

-- John Stolz, director, Center for Environmental Research and Education, Duquesne University

Panel Three

-- Russ Collins, vice president of South Central Region PA, Trout Unlimited.

-- John Kenny, former member, USA Swimming National Open Water Team

The hearing will be held in 418 Main Capitol Building starting at 10:00.   A video of the hearing will be posed on the Policy Committee webpage.
