The Brodhead Watershed Association will host another in its series of Get Outdoors Poconos hikes on November 16 at the Glen Run Nature Preserve in Monroe County.

There are many surprises in the 182 acres of Glen Run Nature Preserve in south Stroudsburg.  During a guided hike, participants will discover these delights for themselves.

Four miles of trails offer invigorating hikes, exciting switchbacks for mountain bikers-- helpfully maintained by Pocono Bike Club along with preserve owner Pocono Heritage Land Trust-- a small lake, the remnants of a Victorian mansion, and a forested cliff that provides mile-long views.

The land, once earmarked for a housing development, has so much to offer someone looking for a few surprises outside.

Join Carol Hillestad for a moderate 2.5 mile hike on land protected by Pocono Heritage Land Trust. The trail is rocky in some places, with steep sections.

The event is free, but registration is required. To register, call 570-839-1120 or 570-629-2727; or send email to: info@brodheadwatershed.org.

For information about this and other hikes, visit the Get Outdoors Poconos webpage. The hike series is administered by Brodhead Watershed Association and supported by a grant from the William Penn Foundation.
