The PA Resources Council, in collaboration with the Southwest PA Air Quality Partnership, is now accepting school registrations for the Let's Clear The Air Poster Challenge in Western Pennsylvania.  The deadline for registration is January 1.

The goal of this challenge is designed to encourage students and teachers in Southwestern Pennsylvania to learn about the effects of air pollution, how to reduce their exposure, and to encourage action through a poster campaign promoting clean air and alternative transportation.

There are 3 contest categories--

-- 6th through 8th grade – Middle School; and

-- 9th through 12th grade – High School.

All schools, public, parochial, and private schools in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland counties are eligible to participate.

The first 30 registered teachers will receive a $20 gift card for supplies to be used for the contest.

Prizes for contest winners include--

-- A bicycle for the top three winners as well as a magic show assembly for their school;

-- Teachers of the winning students will receive a $50 gift card to use on classroom materials and supplies; and
