Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate--

House

Land Banks Act 2 Liability: House Bill 1737 (A.Davis-D-Allegheny) providing Land Banks with Act 2 Land Recycling Act liability protection was reported from the House Appropriations Committee (House Fiscal Note & Summary) and was passed by the House.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action.

Conventional Drilling: Senate Bill 790 (Scarnati-R-Jefferson) reducing environmental protections from impacts of conventional oil and gas drilling was reported from the House Appropriations Committee (House Fiscal Note & Summary) and is now on the House Calendar for action.

State Conservation Commission: House Bill 1755 (Zimmerman-R-Lancaster) requiring an annual report to the General Assembly by the State Conservation Commission was referred to the House Appropriations Committee.

Submerged Land Lease: House Bill 1779 (Wentling-R-Erie) exempting privately constructed shoreline stabilization groin structures from submerged land lease fees covering Commonwealth-owned land was reported out of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and Tabled.
