The PA Trout Unlimited Keystone Coldwater Conference on February 28-29 in State College has extended the deadline for students to submit entries in the Student Poster session and to be part of the Student Mentoring Program to February 14.

Student Posters

College students currently participating in research that relates to the conservation, protection, or restoration of Pennsylvania's coldwater streams are invited to participate in a student poster session on February 28.

Students should prepare a poster and a 3-5 minute presentation on their research. Posters will be judged by a technical team on the presentation and outline of the poster.

The top three presentations will be announced during the conference on February 29.

To participate please email your abstract to Rachel Kester-- c-rkester@pa.gov -- by February 14. Students who wish to attend the conference will need to Click Here to register. There is a reduced rate of $40 for students.

Take a Student to Dinner Mentoring Program

Due to the success of the mentoring program in 2018, we are pleased to offer it again in 2020. Students who wish to participate will be paired with a mentor working in the field of coldwater research, conservation, or education, depending on the interests of the student.

Students and their mentors will then head to dinner before the evening social on February 28 for some one-on-one mentoring time. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and explore career opportunities.

Students wishing to participate in this unique opportunity should contact Rachel Kester--  c-rkester@pa.gov --  by February 14. There is no cost to the student to participate.

To register or for more information, visit the 14th Keystone Coldwater Conference website.
