The Department of Environmental Protection invites comments on five Total Maximum Daily Load watershed plans for watersheds in Centre, Perry, Snyder and Union counties. Centre County DEP has developed a proposed Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for the Little Fishing Creek Watershed in Centre County. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 986) The proposed TMDL document sets allowable loading of sediment in the Little Fishing Creek Subwatershed. Nonpoint source load allocations were made for cropland, hay/pasture land and streambank source sectors present in the subwatershed. Data used in establishing the TMDL were generated using a water quality analysis model (Model My Watershed) made available through the Stroud Water Research Center. Click Here for a copy of the proposed TMDL. The deadline for comments is March 17. Questions should be directed to Michael Morris, Bureau of Clean Water, by calling 717-772-5670 or sending email to: michamorri@pa.gov. Read the entire PA Bulletin notice for all the details. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 986) Perry County DEP has developed a proposed Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for the Cisna Run Watershed in Perry County. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 985) The proposed TMDL document sets allowable loadings of phosphorus and sediment in the Cisna Run Watershed. Phosphorus was chosen as the TMDL endpoint for nutrient impairments due to it being a suspected limiting nutrient in the watershed under natural conditions. Nonpoint source load allocations were made for cropland, hay/pasture land, streambank and farm animal source sectors present in the watershed. Data used in establishing these TMDLs were generated using a water quality analysis model (Model My Watershed) made available through the Stroud Water Research Center. Questions should be directed to Michael Morris, Bureau of Clean Water, by calling 717-772-5670 or sending email to: michamorri@pa.gov. Read the entire PA Bulletin notice for all the details. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 985) Snyder County DEP has developed a proposed Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for the Susquehecka Creek Watershed in Snyder County. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 986) The proposed TMDL document sets allowable loading of sediment in the Susquehecka Creek Watershed. The TMDL included allocations for nonpoint sources, existing NPDES permitted point sources, a reserve for future point sources, as well as a margin of safety factor. Nonpoint source load allocations were made for cropland, hay/pasture land and streambank source sectors present in the watershed. Data used in establishing the TMDL were generated using a water quality analysis model (Model My Watershed) made available through the Stroud Water Research Center. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 986) Union County DEP has developed a proposed Phosphorus Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for a subwatershed of Sweitzers Run in Union County. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 987) The proposed TMDL document sets allowable loading of phosphorus in the Sweitzers Run Watershed. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 987) Union County DEP has developed a proposed Sediment Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for a subwatershed of Sweitzers Run in Union County. (Feb. 15 PA Bulletin page 987) The proposed TMDL document sets allowable loading of sediment in the Sweitzers Run Watershed. Nonpoint source load allocations were made for cropland, hay/pasture land, streambank source sectors present in the watershed.
