The 2020 Pennsylvania Rare Plant Forum will take place March 28 at the Penn State Beaver Campus, General Classroom Building Room 115A in Monaca, Beaver County from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The PA Rare Plant Forum serves as an opportunity for concerned citizens and plant enthusiasts to discuss changes to the regulatory status of PA Plant species.

These discussions are used by DCNR, along with data from the PA Natural Heritage Program and the recommendations of PA Vascular Plant Technical Committee, to update PA’s plant regulations.

We want your input!! Every year the Rare Plant Forum considers proposals to change the conservation status of native plant taxa. The planning committee encourages public input and participation in developing the list of proposals.

We recognize that assembling the needed materials for a proposal has become rather involved and technical, but we do not want this to inhibit participation.

PNHP botanists are happy to accept suggestions for taxa to evaluate, or to work with you to gather information about a taxon and draft the needed documentation.

A related meeting-- the PA Plant Conservation Network public stakeholder meeting-- will also be held on March 27 at Penn State Beaver.  Click Here for more.
