Governor’s Invasive Species Council Meets March 10 To Discuss Programs To Prevent The Spread Of Invasive Species

The Governor’s Invasive Species Council is scheduled to meet on March 10 to hear presentations on several programs designed to prevent the spread of invasive species. The presentations on the agenda include-- -- Weed Free Forage & Gravel: Dave Burch, North American Invasive Species Management Association Representative from the Montana Department of Agriculture, will talk about creating a weed free forage and gravel certification program in Pennsylvania to address an important invasive species dispersal pathway. Click Here for more. -- PRISM Program: New York Department of Environmental Conservation officials Justin Perry, Josh Thiel and Dave Adams will do a presentation and Q&A on the creation and operation of New York’s PRISM program. PRISM stands for Partnerships for Regional Invasive Species Management, and is a state funded, highly effective invasive species management program. Click Here for a fact sheet. -- Conservation District Role In PRISM: Piper Sherburne and other Conservation District representatives will discuss the role that Conservation Districts could play in the proposed PRISM program for Pennsylvania.
